Evelyn E. Horton, 78, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2005.
Evelyn was born February 17, 1927 in Cleveland, Oklahoma, the daughter of Earn R. and Clara LaDema Molluer Dixon.
She and her husband owned and operated Topeka Auction House for many years and imported antiques from England. She was an antique dealer and quilter for over 30 years.
Evelyn married Lonnie M. Page on January 21, 1942. They later divorced.
She married Newton A. Horton on October 21, 1946. He died January 3, 1987.
Survivors include a son, Murell Page and wife, Georgia, DeSoto; sister, Irene Cott and husband, Roy, Alta Vista; brother, Charles Dixon and wife, Monique, Lansing; 3 grandchildren: Dena Force and husband Dan, Topeka, Murell Horton, New York City, and Pam Thomas and husband, Dudley, Shawnee; and 5 great grandchildren who fondly referred to their grandmother as Golden Grams; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Lavina Jane Page and a sister, Sonya Carol Dixon.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, November 4, 2005 at Newcomer Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in Topeka cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 3, 2005
