Evelyn Majors

Evelyn E. Majors, 84, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at a Topeka care facility. She was born on August 4, 1921 in Atchison, the daughter of Jessie and Eva Smith Winrow. She lived most of her life in Atchison prior to moving to Topeka seven years ago. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atchison and attended Light of the World Christian Center. She married Arthur Majors He preceded her in death. Survivors include one daughter, Beverly A. Croft of Topeka, two grandsons, Christopher L. Croft, Devon A. Croft and one great-granddaughter, Jadah Keeling, one brother, Lawrence Winrow in California and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Graveside committal services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Leavenworth National Cemetery. Mrs. Majors will lie in state from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel.
