Evelyn Margaret Ackerman

Evelyn Margaret "Peggy" Ackerman, 80, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Brewster Place. She was born April 22, 1936 in Spokane Washington, the daughter of Cecil and Martha (Gilchrist) Merritt.
Peggy was employed by Jostens Printing Company for 25 years before retiring in 1996. She was a member of the Berryton United Methodist Church and the Santa Fe Bowling League.
Peggy married William L. Ackerman on September 27, 1957 in Spokane, Washington. He preceded her in death on January 14, 2002. She later married Albert E. Henry on October 21, 2005 in Topeka. He survives. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Joan Ralph and her daughter-in-law, Teresa Ackerman.
Survivors include one daughter, Janet (Richard) Gentry of Berryton, one son, Greg Ackerman of Topeka, two grandchildren, Aaron Ackerman and Amy (David) Gentry McCune and one great-grandson, Noah LeRoy McCune.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2016 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Private inurnment will take place in Lynn Creek Cemetery southeast of Topeka at a later date. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association, 3625 SW 29th St., Ste. 102, Topeka, Kansas 66614.
