Evelyn Scott

Evelyn Scott, 80, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2005 at her residence. She was born on July 22, 1925 in Topeka, the daughter of Jacob and Anna K. Whitman May. She was a life long Topeka resident. She graduated from Topeka High School. She was a seamstress for McEntire Brothers Mattress Company. She married Chester M. Scott. He preceded her in death in 1966. Survivors include two sons, Leland K. Scott of Council Grove, Ted L. Scott of Topeka, two daughters, Dale A. Kooser of Ozawkie, Kathleen E. Gerhardt of Topeka, eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one brother and several sisters. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Cremation will follow services. Private inurnment will take place in Meriden Cemetery in Meriden. Mrs. Scott will lie in state after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening.
