Everett Elza Dauner, 95, Topeka, died Sunday, December 11, 2011 at Brewster Place in Topeka.
Mr. Dauner farmed for a number of years in south central Kansas and then was employed for twenty-one years by the Mountain View-Los Altos High School District in Mountain View, California.
Everett was born April 20, 1916 at Sawyer, Kansas, the son of William T. Dauner and Hazel Combs Dauner. He graduated from Sawyer High School in 1934.
He was married to Velma Dye on January 22, 1936 in Wichita, KS. She preceded him in death in June 2007.
He was a long time member of the Church of Christ. He taught bible classes some forty-five years and served as an elder for several years in California. At the time of his death, he was a member of Quivira Heights Church of Christ in Topeka.
Survivors include a daughter, Elaine Poland of Carthage, MO; three sons, Duane of Sacramento, CA; Max of Marseilles, France and Marlon of Wichita, KS; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a brother, Lothair Dauner of Sawyer, KS.
Funeral services will be at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 17 at the Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at Ellenwood Cemetery, Sawyer, KS. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
