Flora "Flo" B. Dreier, 84, of Topeka, passed away, Thursday, August 11, 2005 at Midland Hospice House, Topeka.
She was born July 5, 1921 in Berryton, Kansas the daughter of Paul F. and Anna Marie Zimmerman Dreier.
Flora was a graduate of Berryton High School, Dodds Business College, Topeka, and Pima College, Tucson, AZ.
Flo started her career in 1941 as a Federal Civil Service employee at Fort Riley and Adak, AK. She then joined the Women's Army Corp in 1953 and served at Headquarters in Japan, the "Presidio" at San Fransisco, California, France, the Pentagon, and Hawaii. After her military career she worked for and retired from the U.S. House of Representatives. Upon her retirement in 1971 she moved to Tucson, AZ and returned to Kansas in 1978 to work for the Manhattan Public Library and the Kansas State Library.
Survivors include a son, Bradford Namahoe, Fullerton, CA; four nephews, Raymond and Richard Dreier, Topeka; Lowell Pauli, Blue Springs, MO; and Arland Pauli, Lanark, IL.
Flora was preceded in death by her brothers Walter, Carl and Edward Dreier, and her sisters, Bertha Hamann and Mary Pauli.
Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 15, 2005 at the Mt. Hope Chapel. Inurnment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Women's Army Corp Museum, P.O. Box 5030, Ft. Lee, VA 23801-0030, or to Midland Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
