Florence E. Kreipe
January 9, 1922 — April 7, 2015
Florence E. Kreipe, 93, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at a Topeka care facility. She was born January 9, 1922 in rural Douglas Co., KS, the daughter of Thomas and Sue Swadley Connole.
Florence graduated from Lecompton High School in 1939. She and her husband were active square dancers for over 50 years.
Florence married Gene Kreipe on November 24, 1943 in Richland, KS. He survives. Other survivors include their children, Connie (Greg) Hupp, Linda (Rich) Bond, four grandchildren, Kelly, Ian, Nolle and Kari and one great-granddaughter, Natalie. She was preceded in death by her five siblings.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2015 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery southeast of Topeka. Florence will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 12, 2015 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Lecompton Historical Society, 640 E. Woodson, Lecompton, KS 66050.
