Floyd Elwood Lacey

September 8, 1955 — March 10, 2024

Floyd Elwood Lacey, 68, of Topeka, was reunited with his son in heaven Sunday, March 10, 2024 at Midland Hospice Care, after battling an aggressive brain tumor.

He was born September 8, 1955, in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Floyd and Ellen Lacey. He graduated from Holton High School in 1973.

Floyd was employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber for 30+ years, retiring in 2013.

Mr. Lacey was associated with the Topeka Reformed Presbyterian Church and was involved with the School of Martial & Meditative Arts.

Floyd married Donna Ledbetter on October 18, 1975 in Holton, KS. She survives to carry on the home.

Other survivors include daughter, Katharine Cook; grandchildren, Kyleigha & Kaitlynn Blanton and Makayla, Tiana & Wyatt Cook; great grandchildren, Rozzlynn & Ryker; siblings, Anita Lacey, Cheryl (Rex) Hill & Barbara (Tim) Schneider.

He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved son, Joshua James Lacey.

Floyd loved spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the light of his life. He enjoyed helping family and friends with various home projects of building/remodeling, cutting trees, log splitting and lawn care.

Floyd was cremated. A Memorial Visitation will be held at 5:30 – 7:30pm, Friday March 22, 2024 at Dove Cremations & Funerals Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka, KS. Private interment of the cremated remains will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka, KS.
