Forrest Sanders

Forrest Dwayne "Duke" Sanders passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2010. He was born on July 31, 1987 to Forrest Sr. and Bridgett Sanders in Lawton, Oklahoma. Duke graduated from Highland Park High School in 2006 where he had participated in various sports, clubs, and academic programs. After graduation he attended Highland Community College until he became a full-time father to Aniyah Sanders.

Duke leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Bridgett Sanders (Gill) and step-father, Dennis Torrence; father, Forrest Sanders, Cleveland, Ohio; grandparents, Barbara Clark, Classie and Ernest Sanders, Cleveland, Ohio; his daughter Aniyah Sanders and her mother Romae Baker; one brother, Trey Sanders; one sister, Brittney Gill; his niece De'Asia Sanders; a special group of brothers and best friends, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Duke was preceded in death by his grandfathers, U.C. Gill and Robert Clark, Sr. and his younger brother Farrell Sanders.

Funeral service will be held Monday, April 12, 2010 promptly at 11:00 a.m. at Temple of Deliverance Church of God in Christ, 520 SE Norwood, Topeka, Kansas. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Interment will be at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established at New Century Credit Union, 707 SE Quincy, Topeka, KS 66603.
