Frances DeLong (Gookins) Eissler, 100, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021.
She was born April 2, 1921, in Boone, Colorado, the daughter of O.E. and Doris L. (Crim) DeLong. She graduated from Eskridge High School in 1939.
Frances was employed by the State of Kansas for many years, retiring in 1984.
Mrs. Eissler was a member of the United Methodist Church of Harveyville.
Frances married Asa O. Gookins on May 17, 1940 in Alma, KS. He passed away on May 27, 1983. She then married Harold Tobler on June 10, 1990 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1997. She then married Howard Eissler on February 3, 2002. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2006. Survivors include her daughters, Olive Ann Wood of Topeka and Ina Louise Hill of Seibert, CO; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; forty-three great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Mary English of Crane, MO and Alice Young of Ottawa, KS. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Wyla Manis; grandsons Jerry Hill and Asa Mapes; great-grandson Tyler Baker; and her brothers O.E. DeLong, Jr. and David DeLong and her sister Laura Crow.
Frances enjoyed quilting, dancing, bingo and playing cards.
A visitation will be held at 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 7th at Dove Cremations and Funerals Southwest Chapel at 3700 SW Wanamaker Road in Topeka. There will be a graveside service on Friday, October 8th at 10:00 AM at Harveyville Cemetery in Harveyville, KS, followed by a luncheon at the Harveyville United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Harveyville United Methodist Church 371 Wabaunsee Avenue, Harveyville, KS 66431.
