Frances “Fran” Zoanne Primm Scrimsher, 94, of Topeka, passed peacefully Tuesday, August 27, 2024.
She was born November 22, 1929, in LaBelle, Missouri, the daughter of Thomas Page and Alice Marie (Boltz) Primm. Fran received her Associate's Degree in Business Administration from Washburn University.
Fran was employed by the Kansas Legislature, Social and Rehabilitation Services and was the Chief of Licensing for Alcohol Beverage Control. Upon retirement, she worked for the Kansas Turnpike Authority.
Fran was a member of the Seabrook United Church of Christ, Kansas Silver Haired Legislature, Washburn Alumni Association and Foundation, American Business Women’s Association, Topeka Round-up Club, Shawnee Boat and Ski Club, and First Christian Church, of Topeka.
Zoanne married Robert “Bob” James Scrimsher on May 3, 1946, in LaBelle, Mo. He preceded her in death on April 20, 1998.
She leaves behind her children, Lana Paige Scrimsher (Kent) Oleen, Patricia Marie (Ray) Spencer and Rhett Thane (Lisa) Scrimsher; grandchildren, Brooke-Alise Paige (Tyson) Tieperman, Bentson Robert (Andrea) Oleen, Justin Ray (Carolanne) Spencer, Jordan Michael (Amy) Spencer, Jeremy Thomas (Brandie) Spencer, Drew Daniel (Kristen) Scrimsher, Noah Thane Scrimsher, and Sophie Elizabeth-Ling Scrimsher; great grandchildren, Bowen & Kippen Tieperman, Kenton & Katherine Jane Paige Oleen, Brayden, Emma Marie & Banner Spencer, Brooklyn, Bristol Zoanne & Brynlee Spencer, Brooks & Blaire Spencer; sister-in-law, Oneta Primm, and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son James “Jim” Robert Scrimsher, granddaughter Olivia Zoe Scrimsher, and her siblings Thomas Bruce Primm and Barbara Lucille Worthington.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Mount Hope Chapel, 4700 SW 17th St., Topeka, KS 66604. Fran's service will be livestreamed at the scheduled service time.
