Francis Michael Coyle, 58, of Topeka, passed away, Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at the Colmery-O'Neil V.A. Hospital, Topeka.
He was born on March 8, 1946 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Francis Michael Coyle and Mary Ann O'Leary Coyle. He attended St. Edmonds Elementary School and Bishop Neumann High School, both in Philadelphia. He received an Associates Degree in Business from Buck's Community College.
He entered the military service in 1966 and was stationed in Germany. He was discharged in 1968 as a Sergeant E-5.
He had worked as a salesman with John Hoffer Chrysler Plymouth in Topeka. He had most recently been employed by the V.A. in Leavenworth assisting veterans with disabilities.
He was married to Betty Jean Matteo. They later divorced. Mr. Coyle is survived by his daughter, Gina Marie and her husband Scott Holloman and their three children Whitney Marie, Hunter Scott and Eli Pierce and his son, Francis Coyle and his wife Mary and their three children; Luke Anthony, Caitlyn Marie, and Joseph Thomas. He is also survived by his sister Mary Spurgeon.
Cremation is planned. Mr. Coyle will lie in state and the family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Thursday and a prayer service will be said at 4:45pm Thursday at the Newcomer Family Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held 10:00am Friday at the Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Fort Leavenworth National Cemtery.
