Frank Darrell Timken, 88, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. He was born July 14, 1930 in Dodge City, Kansas, the son of Frank and Olga (Hardy) Timken.
Frank graduated from Cimarron High School. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Kansas and a Master's Degree in Biology from Emporia State University. Frank was an Army Veteran during the Korean War. He was employed as a Teacher by the Lansing, Augusta and USD 501 in Topeka. He was a member of the Highland Park United Methodist Church, Philip-Billard V.F.W. Post No. 1650 and Capitol Post No. 1 of the American Legion.
Frank married Clarice I. Buttron on May 12, 1953 in Cimarron, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include their children; Elaine (Tom) Ford of Wakarusa, Kansas, Mark (Hye Kyung) Timken of Albany, California, three grandchildren; Douglas, Kirsten and Alice and three-great-grandchildren.
Frank was preceded in death by his siblings; Lois Timken and John Timken.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Highland Park United Methodist Church. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
