Charles and Frankie celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past May. The couple first made their home in
Lyndon, Kansas where Mrs. Crane worked as a teacher for four years. They moved to Topeka in 1955, where she
was both a homemaker and a substitute teacher until 1970, when she began her employment with the
Determinations Unit of the State of Kansas Department of Human Resources, retiring in 1993.
Mrs. Crane enjoyed playing golf and traveling with her husband. She was an active member of both the Lake
Shawnee and Lake Perry Ladies Golf Associations. She enjoyed listening to classical music and spending time
with her children and grandchildren.
