June 11, 1935 — October 8, 2012

Frankie June Brady, 77, Apache Junction, AZ, formerly of Tecumseh, died Monday, October 8, 2012 at Brookside Manor in Overbrook. Private family inurnment will be at Carbondale Cemetery between her husband, Charles R. Brady of 53 years, and her mother, Laura Belle Cooper, at a later date.

She was born in Scranton, KS, June 11, 1935, the daughter of Clifford R. and Laura Belle (Reed) Watson. After Clifford died, Belle married Herbert Cooper and he adopted Belle's 4 daughters.

Frankie attended Scranton Grade School and Carbondale High School. After marrying Charles R. Brady on April 12, 1952, she joined him in Aurora, CO. They later relocated to Casper, WY, for five years. While there, she attended Casper College, worked at AT&T as an operator, and The Casper Tribune Herald Newspaper as a proof-reader before starting a family.

They moved back to Topeka in 1957, then to Tecumseh on the Kansas River in 1961 for 30 years. She joined the Tecumseh UMC and was baptized there. She taught Sunday school for many years and was instrumental in establishing the Tecumseh Christian Day Care.

After Charles retired, they traveled full-time in an RV for 4 years, later settling at Super Sun Resort in Apache Junction, AZ which became their home in October of 1998. The Desert Chapel UMC accepted their membership transfers. They volunteered at both their church and resort.

Loved ones left behind are two sons, Clark R. (Sandy) Brady, Tecumseh, and Craig R. (Debbie) Brady, Topeka; two daughters, Phyllis M. (Les) Twombly, Holton, and Linda S. (Kevin) Spunaugle, Yates Center; 9 grandchildren; three sisters, Alta Sullivan, Topeka, Sandra (Gary) DeShazer and Sadie (Bob) Day, both of Scranton, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Brad Brady.

Dove Cremation & Funeral Service in Topeka is assisting the family.
