Franklin Edmond "Frank" Felitsky, 80, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2016. He was born July 10, 1936 in Fairpoint, Ohio, the son of Frank Michael Felitsky and Emma Davis Felitsky.
Frank married Mary Ruth Rice Felitsky in 1956. Frank enlisted in the Air Force in 1954 and retired after 20 years as a Chief Master Sergeant serving in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars where he received many medals of honor, commendations and awards including the Bronze Star. He then worked for the United States Postal Service for 20 years retiring in 1996 as a Postal Inspector/Quality Control Specialist. After retiring, he and his wife spent 19 years at their winter home in Casa Del Sol, Donna, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Mary of 60 years along with their three sons, Tony (Vickie) Felitsky, Lee's Summit, MO, Timothy Felitsky of Topeka, Michael (Ashley) Felitsky of Independence, MO, and one granddaughter, Gabrielle Felitsky. Frank was preceded in death by his father, Frank Michael Felitsky, four sisters, Winifred Cook, Elizabeth Cuiksa, Regina Cunningham, Delores Jablonski and his twin brother, Floyd Felitsky.
Frank will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel. A celebration of Frank's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Mount Hope Cemetery and Funeral Chapel. Entombment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
