Freda J. (McCauley) Boggs, 89, Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2012.
Freda was born January 9, 1923 in Pleasant Hill, MO, the daughter of James F. and Bessie (Amende) Hale.
She was employed by Farm Security Administration in Pettis County, MO, Pratt-Whitney in Kansas City, MO, and Chase Candy Company and Hillyard Chemical Company in St. Joseph, MO.
Freda married Glen D. McCauley in 1948. They moved to Topeka when he was transferred with International Harvester in 1963. In Topeka, Freda was employed by Prickett-Onek Architects and by the Kansas Society of CPAs. She and Glen owned and operated the Western Auto store in Auburn from 1973 to 1978. Glen passed away on April 10, 1987.
Freda married Mervin Boggs in 1989. Mervin passed away February 3, 2003. She is survived by daughters, Glenda (Bud) Berg, Kansas City, MO, Donna Gilless, Topeka; step-children, Ron (Carol) Boggs, Hiawatha, Connie (Ron) Reimer, Glendale, AZ; four grandchildren; five step grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Crestview United Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Sparta Cemetery at Faucett, MO. Freda will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 22 at the Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road and visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
