Freddie Thowe Stamm, 82, of Topeka, joined her Lord and Savior on August 26, 2012. She was born January 22, 1930 in Council Grove to George and Goldie (Belt) Campmire.
Freddie married Wilmer Thowe in April of 1949 at Alma, KS. They later divorced. To that marriage were born 3 children, Kirby Thowe (Brenda) of Keller, TX, Loren Thowe (Susan) of Tecumseh, and Deryl Thowe of Alma. They survive. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Travis Thowe (Linda), Keller, TX, Christopher Thowe (Erica) and Benjamin Thowe, Kansas City, KS; great-grandchildren, Hayley and Grant Thowe, Keller, TX. Freddie married Wayne Stamm in 1991. He preceded her in death in 2001. She is also preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and her ex-husband.
After working various jobs, Freddie retired as a secretary for the State of Kansas. She was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Topeka where she led home bible study classes. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Comfort keepers, Homestead of Auburn, and Plaza West Regional Health Center for their kindness and care during these last few years of her life.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 31st at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Ave. in Topeka, with Pastor Jim Bender of Faith Lutheran Church officiating. A visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church.
