Garry R. McPherson, 65 of Overbrook passed away January 17, 2014 in a Topeka hospital surrounded by his family.
Garry was born in 1948 to Denzel and Carmel McPherson in Topeka, KS. He was preceded in death by both parents and a brother, Laurence of Carbondale. He is survived by a sister Donna Teehee of Oskaloosa and a brother Ronnie McPherson of Newman.
He was married to Edna Bogart in 1968. She died in 1991. They had one daughter, Virgilene Hildebrandt of Farmington, NM and three sons, Kelly McPherson of Ozawkie, Darrell McPherson and Raymond McPherson both of Overbrook.
He was married to Delphia Thomas in 1983. She died in 2003. They had one daughter, Misty Brown of Topeka.
He was married to Candace Mullins and had one son, Matthew McPherson of Overbrook. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews.
Garry was a United States veteran and served two tours with the Army in Vietnam.
He was a house painter and worked with lifetime best friend Tommy Roberts of Topeka.
There will be a private gathering on Wednesday for family and close friends. The family can be contacted for details.
