Gary Lee Kirkpatrick, 71, of Topeka, passed away February 26, 2018 following a short battle with cancer. He was born July 12, 1946 in East St. Louis, Illinois to William R. and Dolores (Royer) Kirkpatrick. The family moved to Topeka shortly after his birth.
He grew up in Topeka and graduated from Topeka High in 1964. He was drafted into the US Navy in 1966 and served in Guam. Gary worked for Jetz Service and retired from the City of Topeka, parking meter division. He loved to watch KU Jayhawks sports and work crossword puzzles.
Gary is survived by his sister, Judy Howe (Jeff) of Topeka; niece, Shawna Venhaus (Nick) of Topeka; nephews: Jared Howe of Norfolk, VA, Caleb Howe of Topeka; two great nephews: Braden and Jaxon. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Private services will be held. Interment will be at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
