Gary L. Bass
Gary L. Bass, 70, of Topeka, formerly of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at his home. He was born on January 8, 1940 in Des Moines, IA, the son of Cleo T. and Ida Price Bass.
He grew up in Des Moines and Jefferson, IA and resided in Sioux, Falls, SD for most of his life before moving to Topeka in 2009. He was a loan processor for Home Federal Bank for 17 years until 1993 and then became a security guard for Cyclone Security Guard from 1993 until retiring in 2001.
Gary married Rose Ditter on June 13, 1963 in Canton, SD. She survives. Other survivors include their children; Kim (Jay) Glammeier, Doug (Krystal) Bass, Kelly (and girlfriend, Amber Callies) Bass all of Sioux Falls, SD, Brett (Trina) Bass of Knoxville, TN, ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his infant son; Corey and his sister; Nancy L. Bass.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 2010 at the Celebrate Community Church in Sioux Falls, SD. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Celebrate Community Church, 1000 S. Sycamore Ave., Sioux Falls, SD 57110. Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel in Topeka is in charge of arrangements.
