Gary D. Marts

Gary Don Marts was born April 6th, 1938 in Vesper, KS. He attended schools in Lincoln and Salina, Kansas, graduating high school in Salina. In 1957 he entered the United States Air Force, retiring in 1967. He graduated from Johnson County Community College in 1973 and was employed by the National Weather Service for 19 years, serving in Michigan, Iowa and Kansas, retiring in 1992. After retirement, Gary enjoyed being the family Tech Support / IT Guy, and even building a few custom computers.

He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Kansas. He Married Karen Ann Lohmann on January 7th, 1968 in Overland Park, Kansas. They had two children, Kristie Ann and Jeffrey Don. He has three grandchildren, Steffan, Miguel and Amelia and one great-granddaughter, Khloe.

Gary is survived by his wife, Karen; children, Kristie (Andre) and Jeffrey; grandchildren, Steffan, Miguel and Amelia; and great-granddaughter, Khloe; his brother, Ronald W. Marts as well as many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church Topeka, Kansas.

Memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Christ Lutheran Church, 3509 SW Burlingame Rd, Topeka, KS 66611.

Private burial will take place in Lincoln, Kansas.
