Gary L. McGinness

Gary L. McGinness, 84, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Brewster Place in Topeka. He was born July 7, 1940 in Lincoln, Kansas, the son of Guy and Florence (Smith) McGinness. He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Gary graduated from Lincoln High School in 1958. He attended Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas and earned a Master's Degree in Sociology from Wichita State University. Gary was employed as a Probation Officer for the Federal Court for 25 years before retiring. After retiring, he volunteered at the Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center and was a long-time member of the St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee. 

Gary married Judy K. Bradbury on September 2, 1967 in Wichita, Kansas. They were married for 57 years. She survives. 

A private Celebration of Gary's Life will be held at a later date. Inurnment will take place in the Veterans' Cemetery at Fort Riley in Manhattan, Kansas at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Brewster Place Foundation, 1205 SW 29th St., Topeka, Kansas 66611.
