Gary R. Southall
Gary R. Southall, 61, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2010. He was born on September 23, 1948 in Teaneck, New Jersey, the son of Burnell G. and Marjorie "Kay" Kenney Southall.
He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1966 and received a BA degree in Education from Indiana University. Gary then entered the Army as an officer, serving from 1981 until receiving a medical discharge in 1989. He enjoyed working for T-Shirts Etc. for close to 20 years.
Survivors include one son, Christopher B. Southall and fiancé, Betsy Rebek, two grandsons; Trenton and Jake, his dog, Shadow, two brothers; Ed Southall and wife, Dawn, Rusty Southall and wife, Donna as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Gary's family was his life.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Graveside inurnment services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the U.M.D.F., KC Chapter c/o Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 S.E. Minnesota Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66605.
