Eugene E. "Gene" Trembly, passed away Friday, October 18, 2013 at his home. Gene was born May 29, 1926 at the family home in Chanute, KS, the son of Carl and Eula (Johnson) Trembly.
Gene graduated from Chanute High School, and married his high school sweetheart Alice Ilene Adams on February 14, 1947. They were married for 66 years. She preceded him in death on July 7, 2013. Gene worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 47 years. He and Alice made their home in Wellington, KS with a later transfer to Topeka, KS where they made their final home. Gene was a self-taught master clock repairman, repairing and rebuilding clocks for over 40 years. He held a special place in his heart for friends and family, most especially his children and grandchildren.
In the last several years, Gene and Alice were attended with twenty four hour care by their family and grandchildren in her home. He expressed his love and appreciation daily to all of his loving caregivers. Gene is survived his two sons; Raleigh Trembly (Elizabeth Sarchet), Randy Trembly (Vicki Carey); one daughter, Tisha Trembly-Toone (Burton Toone); grandchildren, Paula, Peter, Pamela, Matthew, Allison, and Paige; great-grandchildren, Joseph, Courtney, Marley, Nash and Saylor; great-great-grand children, Dylan, Rylee and Carter.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 3PM at Shawnee Center Cemetery, Wakarusa, KS. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Midland Care or the Wakarusa Presbyterian Church College Fund.
