Gene D. Ramsey

Gene D. Ramsey, 86, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2019. He was born January 16, 1933 in Oneida, Kansas, the son of Victor M. and Golda M. (Hall) Ramsey.
Gene graduated from Soldier High School in 1950. He was an Air Force Veteran during the Korean War. He was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad for 33 years before retiring on May 1, 1990.
Gene married Barbara J. Myers on August 25, 1958 in Topeka. She preceded him in death on December 12, 2009.
Survivors include their two children; Daniel (Betty) Ramsey of Berryton, Debra Ramsey-Kuck of Tecumseh, grandchildren; Erin (Josh) Sullivan of Kerrville, Texas, Blake (Sarah) Ramsey of Topeka, Kansas and Donavan, Kala and Nick Kuck all of Topeka, eight great-grandchildren and his brother, Keith (Darlene) Ramsey of Topeka.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2019 at Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society, 1315 SW Arrowhead Road Topeka, KS 66604 or the Alzheimer's Association, 3625 SW 29th St. Suite 102, Topeka, Kansas, 66614.
