George E. Coyne, 92, of Topeka, passed away Friday, July 12, 2013. George was an 8 year veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during WWII, and he belonged to Plumbers Local #165 and #441 for over 67 years.
George is survived by his wife, Betty of 68 years; daughter-in-law, Penny McCurdy; and cousin, Dr. Lolafaye Coyne. He is preceded in death by 2 sons, Danny and Michael; and brother, Harold Burnett.
Per his wishes, George was cremated. A visitation will be held from 2:30-4:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 17th at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Ave. in Topeka. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Heartland Division Inc., 1315 SW Arrowhead Road, Topeka, KS 66604; The American Heart Association, Memorial Processing Center, P.O. Box 1653 Topeka, KS 66601, or Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
