George "Bill" Kahn, 82, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2019. He was born January 26, 1937 in Ellis, KS, the son of Arthur E. and Dorothy (Scarlett) Kahn, Sr.
George graduated from Ellis High School in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany.
He was a supervisor at Frito Lay for over 30 years, retiring in 1992.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and watching all Kansas team sports.
George married Nancy Martin. His wife of 58 years survives. Other survivors include children, Christina Kahn, Topeka, Raenise (Kirk) Sampson, Lawrence; grandchildren, Brandon and Brian O'Brate, Rebecca Woolbert, Kahner Sampson; great-grandchildren, Kaden, Addalynn, Traysen, Tysen, Leighanna, Gavin, Lorraina, Landon, Brynlee; sister, Doris Fetters; and several half-brothers and half-sisters in California. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorraine O'Brate; sister, Patricia Dominguez; and brothers, Arthur, Jr., Charles, and Donald Kahn.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2019 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota. Burial with military honor will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. George will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 26, 2019 at the funeral home.
