George L. "Jay" Williams, 88, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017.
He was born December 29, 1928, in Elkhart, Kansas, the son of George and Ruth (Coons) Williams.
George was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, 1st Division, serving in China and Korea. He was a member of VFW Post 400, American Legion, and the Disabled American Veterans.
George married Sharon L. Biester on December 12, 1969, in Miami, Oklahoma.
Survivors include his wife; children, Gary Williams, Patrick Williams, Robert Williams, Greg Thompson, Carri Casto, Renae Osburn, Staci Bush, and Lance Caulk; 18 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
George was cremated. Graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 28, 2017, at Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606.
