George Harris Nolte, 70, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2019.
He was born November 10, 1948 in West Point, Nebraska, the son of Harris George and Beulah Maude (Christiansen) Nolte. He was a graduate of West Point High School.
George served in the United States Army from September 24, 1967 until retiring on April 10, 1981 attaining the rank of Staff Sargent.
He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Topeka.
George married Myong Ok Cha on April 8, 1975 in South Korea. They later divorced. Survivors include two daughters, Maria Ann (Keith) Lembach, Aurora, CO and Amy Sue (Bart) Nastley, Highlands Ranch, CO; four grandchildren, Gavin Joseph, Connor James, Nicholas Edward and Nathaniel Patrick Lembach; three sisters, Cheryl, Vicki, and Tammy; and two brothers, Rex and Carl.
He married Barbara Beverly Beauchamp on August 14, 2010. She preceded him in death on March 23, 2018. Survivors include step-sons, JimBob (Melisa) Beauchamp, Mayetta, KS, Aaron Beauchamp, Topeka; step-daughter, Darcie Beauchamp Schusster, Cape Canaveral, FL; step-grandchildren, Samantha, Anika, Junior and William Beauchamp, Tyler Stookesberry and Zachary Schusster.
George loved being an over the road trucker and was an avid gun collector.
Honoring his request, cremation is planned. A memorial ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 14, 2019 at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 3625 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka, KS 66614.
