George Albert Thomas, 88, born October 29, 1928, in Denver, Colorado, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017 in Topeka, Kansas. He was the son of Robert Richard Thomas and Hannah Alberta Keene.
George served in the United States Air Force in Okinawa, Japan for several years before being honorably discharged.
He dedicated his life to his community, wife, children and grand-children. George was a retired auto mechanic and painter, the father of seven children and the grandfather of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings: Robert Richard Thomas, Jr, Charles Sidney Thomas, James Wilbur Thomas, and Verna Alberta Thomas.
He is survived by his wife of over 55 years, Dora Sanchez of Topeka, KS; seven children: Judie Walker, David Thomas, Janice Williams, and Jeffrey Thomas all of Aurora, CO; Albert Thomas, Jr., Sandra Hutton, and Taryn Thomas all of Topeka, KS; sister, Leona Stevenson of Denver, CO and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family and friends.
A family gathering will be held at a later date in his hometown, Denver, Colorado.
