George W. "Wally" Pinger, 78, Topeka, died November 4, 2010. He was born in Topeka to Wallace and Anna (Dietz) Pinger on Jan. 12, 1932. He Graduated from Topeka High School in 1950 and served in the National Guard from 1950 until 1958.
He married Verda Butterfield on March 2, 1956 in Topeka. He was employed by DuPont from 1958 through 1985. They lived in Harlingen, Texas from 1992 to Nov. 2008. He enjoyed woodworking.
Wally is survived by his wife, Verda; daughters, Lynette (Ted) Decker, Denise (Steve) Jeanneret, Cindy (Jeremy) McDowell; grandchildren, Thad Decker, Darci Webster, Stephanie Slack; great-granddaughter, Trisha Decker; sister, Alberta Garner, and brother, Charles Pinger.
Visitation will be held for one hour before the memorial service which will be held on November 20, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Ave.
