Georgia Ruth Webb Gorrell, 84, of Topeka passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018.
She was born August 31, 1934 in Mineral Springs, Arkansas. As a child she lived in Greenwood, AR. She graduated from Greenwood High School. Following graduation Georgia moved to Texas where she was a homemaker and mother. She enjoyed bowling, reading, and attending her children's sporting events.
Georgia moved to Topeka, KS in 1974. Georgia worked for Highway Oil, Inc. as a data entry clerk. She retired in 1995.
Georgia Webb married Herman Gorrell in 1957. They were divorced. Survivors include three children, Stephen Gorrell, Meriden; Melissa (Mark) Wood, Ellijay, GA; Gregory Gorrell, Topeka; grandchildren Tabbetha (David) Ewing, Muldrow, OK; Cody Gorrell, Paris, AR and Isabella Wood, Ellijay, GA; great grandchildren Christopher Guardado, Raine Ewing, and Skye Ewing; and sister Mary Hudson, Topeka, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Hazel Webb McCorkle, daughter Barbara Gorrell, son William Gorrell, and grandson Stephen Gorrell, JR.
Honoring her request Georgia was cremated. A private family service will be held at a later date. Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS.
