Gerald H. Wietharn, 84, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022.
He was born March 16, 1938, in Sabetha, Kansas, the son of Vincent Francis and Rita Mary (Kohake) Wietharn.
Gerald served in the Army National Guard for 9 years.
He worked in management at Safeway for 38 years and Falley's for 10 years.
Mr. Wietharn was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Topeka. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Moose Lodge.
Gerald married Kathryn Noah on August 7, 1970 in Topeka, Kansas.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Wietharn of Topeka; daughters, Audra (Joe) Wietharn and Lori (Patrick) Wissman; three grandchildren; sister Rita (David) Boos; many nieces and nephews; and his friend, Joshua Schwan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Gerald enjoyed eating good food. He was active in working outdoors, taking on home improvement projects and dancing. Most of all he enjoyed helping others.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5973 SW 25th Street, Topeka, Kansas 66614. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am and a Rosary will be recited at approximately 9:30 am. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66606.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
