Geraldine F. Hadjukovich, 86, Lawrence, Kansas, passed away Jan. 12, 2012. She was born Jan. 8, 1926 to farmers in Seneca, Missouri, Fred and Gertrude (Nutting) Farrier. She attended high school in Lawrence at Liberty Memorial High School and baby-sat for an income. She also participated in 4-H.

She said she married too young at age 18. Her husband, Robert Nightingale, served in the Army in WWI and was wounded, requiring considerable care upon his return. She and her husband lived in Little Rock, AR. She lost her only pregnancy at three months due to being hit by a car which never even stopped.

He was killed in WWII and sent her his medal. She was also employed at Ferrell's Gift Shop, J.C.Penney, and Weavers Department Store. She married Emil Hadjukovich in the late 1960's. They resided in Kansas City, Missouri. He preceded her in death.

Twenty-two years ago she met "Bud" and they resided on a farm in Tecumseh, Kansas which they both loved. Bud preceded her in death on June 18, 2010. During their 22 years together they traveled to various states fishing and hunting. They loved to dance. She was a good seamstress, crocheted, and made a delicious assortment of candies at Christmas. She was an avid gardener and canned the produce from her garden.

She is survived by her twin sister Nadine Hadl, Pleasant Hill, MO; one brother, Fred Farrier, McPherson, KS; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. Her brother, David Clayton Farrier passed away Jan. 13, 2012.

She was preceded by two brothers, Donald and Ruben Farrier, two sisters, Maxine and Dorothy, and a half-sister, Violet.

Private burial will be at Topeka Cemetery.
