Gertrude Eckert Butner, 92, Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at Aldersgate Village.

She was born December 31, 1914 in Topeka, the daughter of Harrison and Gertrude Weber.

She married Theodore Eckert on July 11, 1933 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on May 14, 1982. She married Charles O. Butner on May 17, 1985. He died June 23, 2003.

Survivors include one son; Theodore (Mely) Eckert, San Diego, CA; one daughter, Louise (Mike) Reilly, Topeka; one step-son, Steven (Linda) Butner, Santa Barbara, CA; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter; three step-grandchildren and one step-great grandson; two sisters, Ruth McQuiston, McKinney, TX, and Julia Mosher, Belton, MO.

She was a member of First Congregational Church.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Mount Hope Cemetery. Gertrude will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
