Gertrude I. "Gerty" White, 70, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022. She was born July 23, 1952 in Topeka, the daughter of Clarence Loren and Ruth Gertrude (Ireland) Irish.
Gerty graduated Washburn Rural High School. She was employed by the State of Kansas for many years. She was a member of The Apostolic Church.
Gerty married Ledeff White. He preceded her in death on February 2, 2010.
Survivors include children; Almeda White of Topeka, Allen White of Topeka, three grandchildren; Ahmad White, Chasity White and Larissa White and her siblings; Edna Marn of Topeka, Ted Irish of Overland Park, Kansas and Clarence Irish of Topeka.
Gerty was preceded in death by her siblings; Virginia Turner, Sonia Lewis, Loren B. Irish and Loren K. Irish.
A Celebration of Gerty's Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2022 at The Apostolic Church, 2313 SE 29th St., Topeka, Kansas 66605. Private inurnment will take place in Topeka Cemetery at a later date.
Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
