7. Background: Mrs. Kinney lived in Norton, Kansas as a child. She lived in Gem, Kansas from 1917 until
moving to Topeka in 1945, She served as a custodian at the Rock Island Railroad depot in Gem for 5 years. After
coming to Topeka, she worked for the Kansas State Motor Vehicle Department for 17 years before retiring in 1973.
She was a member of the Baptist Church in Gem, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. In
Topeka, she was a member of Oakland Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School classes and sang in
the choir. She belonged to a Kansas State University Extension Home Demonstration Unit, and served as
president for 3 years. Following her retirement, she sang in the Starlite Senior Chorus.

Lotspeich in 1963. They divorced. She married Alvin Kinney in 1979. He died in 1983.
