Gladys L. McDonald, 90, Topeka, died Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Lexington Park Health Center.
She was born Nov. 29, 1917 in Highland Park, the daughter of Emil and Florence Butts Leuenberger. She graduated from Highland Park High School and from Stricklers Business College.
Gladys retired in 1982 from the Kansas Department of Revenue. She was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church, LAPM Topeka #3 American Legion, and Rebekah Lodge #616.
She married Harry H. McDonald on Sept. 15, 1946 in Topeka. He died July 27, 1966. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Nettie Leuenberger, and a brother, Edwin Leuenberger.
Survivors include her daughter, Marge Herman of Topeka; her grandchildren and spouses, Joe and Marti Herman of Olathe, Jill and Scott Schreiner of Topeka, and Jeff and Stacey Herman of Topeka; and great-grandchildren, Andy and Syndi Schreiner and Abigail Herman.
Services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday at Highland Park United Methodist Church with interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. McDonald will lie in state after noon Monday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6-8 pm.
