Gladys Christine Thompson, 92, of Topeka, passed away, Monday, May 30, 2005 at McCrite's Plaza.
She was born March 20, 1913 in Topeka the daughter of James and Mary Braun Baker.
Mrs. Thompson was employed as a typist for Topeka Wholesale Grocers and Pyramid Life Insurance Company.
Gladys was a member of Oakland Christian Church.
She married Leland Frederic Thompson October 15, 1937. He preceded her in death April 24, 1997. Survivors include: one daughter, Marsha Maher, Peoria, IL; one son, James Thompson, San Antonio, TX; two sisters, Margaret Keeshan, and Dorothy Northup both of Topeka; one brother,Donald Baker Mesa, AZ; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at the Mt. Hope Chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. She will lie in state from 2:00 p..m until 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Newcomer Family Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be given to Oakland Christian Church, 1001 NE Michigan, Topeka, KS 66616.
