Glen E. Engler

August 11, 1921 — January 26, 2015

Glen E. Engler, age 93, passed away on January 26, 2015 in Topeka, Kansas. He was born on August 11, 1921 near Auburn and made it his home, living there the majority of his life.

True-to-life as part of "The Greatest Generation," Glen was a US Army WWII veteran who served as a Staff Sergeant. He honorably received a Victory Ribbon, a Good Conduct Medal, an American Theater Ribbon, a RAME Theater Ribbon and three Bronze Service Stars. For many years following, he was a Logistics Officer for the Federal Civil Service. Glen also faithfully served his local community as a Boy Scout Leader, youth baseball coach and active member of the Auburn Lions Club. He and his wife Edna were long-time contributing organizers and operators of the annual Auburn Grange Fair.

Whether it be gardening, fishing or the adventures of farming, Glen will be remembered fondly for sharing the joys of country life with his family and neighbors.

Glen is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Edna; his parents, August and Mabel; and four siblings.

He is remembered with love by his sons, Michael Engler and his wife Lisa, Topeka; and Kenneth Engler, Auburn; grandchildren, Jessica Orench, Ila Berry and Penny Marvin; and three great-grandchildren.

The family thanks Clare Bridge of Topeka for their compassionate assistance during Glen's stay there.
