Glen E. Thurber, 73, Tecumseh, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at a local hospital.
Glen was born January 14, 1938 in Lawrence, the son of Glen C. and Viola L. (Noble) Thurber. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1956 and attended Washburn University. He served in the U. S. Army for 4 years.
He owned and operated Lake King Rod Company and Arrow Dynamics, both in Topeka, retiring in 2010. He had three patents for Archery arrows. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Glen married Sherry Penry on June 30, 1964 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors sons, Christopher Thurber, Melbourn, Australia, Craig Thurber, Topeka, Glen (Lori) Thurber, Topeka; daughters, Shelane Reed, Topeka, Shaela (Greg) Murray, Topeka; 12 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; and sisters, Carol Thurber and Lois Cook. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Fellowship Bible Church, 6800 SW 10th. Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
