Glenn E. Brown, 86, Topeka, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Midland Hospice House.
Glenn was born October 12, 1923 in Winchester, the son of Quinter and Pearl (Shughart) Brown.
He worked as a Custodian at Gage School in USD-501 for 28 years.
He was previously a member of Trinity Baptist Church, and currently a member of Highland Park Baptist Church.
Glenn married Alice Leonard in March of 1942. She died March 27, 1946. He married Mildred Simpson in December of 1947. She died August 18, 1995. Survivors include daughter, Marian Ercse, Topeka; sons, James B. (JoAnn) Brown, Topeka, Roy A. (Darlene)Brown, Puyallup, WA; half-sisters, Helen Evans, Lawrence, Ruth McCall, Lawrence, and Millie Brown, Baldwin; half brothers, Richard Brown and Bobby Brown, both of Baldwin, and David Brown, Lawrence; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, & extended family. He was also preceded in death by son, Larry E. Brown; and brothers, Delbert Brown, Dale Brown and Ralph Brown.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery. Glenn will lie in state at the funeral home after 3:00 p.m. on Monday and visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
