Glenn E. McClelland, 74, of Topeka, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at a Topeka hospital. He was born July 11, 1949 in Topeka, the son of Benjamin and Henrietta (Kitchen) McClelland, Jr.
Glenn graduated from Highland Park High School. He was an Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He was employed in various capacities throughout his life with his favorite occupation serving as Manager for the American Legion. Growing up, he was of the Baptist faith and was most recently a member of Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church and the American Legion.
Glenn married Ann Johnson of Little Rock, Arkansas. She survives. Other survivors include children, Glennette Johnson of Topeka, Damion McClelland of Topeka, step-son, Tyrone Johnson of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, his siblings, Michael McClelland, Dwight McClelland, Daryl McClelland, Michelle Harris and a host of other family and friends.
Glenn was preceded in death by one grandson, Jermel Robbins, Sr., one great-grandson, Zaviontae Redmon, his siblings, Glenda Allison, Deborah McClelland and Benjamin McClelland, III and his step-daughter, Linda Johnson.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 22, 2023 at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church where the family will
receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
