Glenn "Mike" Stalcup, 88, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022. He was born June 22, 1933 on a farm southeast of Centralia, Kansas, the son of Emmett N. and Opal V. (Aeschliman) Stalcup.
Mike went to one room country schools until the 6th grade. He graduated from Centralia Rural High School in 1951. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. After his discharge, he attended Washburn University. Mike was employed as a Firefighter for the City of Topeka for 22 years before retiring in 1986. He then worked eight years at the Florence Crittenton home. He was a member of the IAFF and the American Legion Capitol Post No. 1.
Mike married Lois J. Palmer on November 20, 1954. She preceded him in death on August 24, 2001. He was also preceded in death by one son, Jay D. Stalcup on November 4, 2017 and his brother, Kenneth Stalcup.
Survivors include two sons, Michael R. (Vicky) Stalcup of Berryton, Patrick N. (Jennifer) Stalcup of Carbondale, daughter-in-law, Rhonda Stalcup of Topeka, twelve grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2022 at the funeral home.
