Gloria "Jean" Grame, 80, passed away Monday, June 4, 2007 in Topeka. She was born October 31, 1926 in Denver CO, the daughter of Byron and L. Iona Moore Velie. She grew up in Old Fort Hays, where she attended school, graduating from Hays High School. After graduation, Mrs. Grame moved to Topeka and worked at Sunflower Ordinance Ammunition plant in Desoto, where she met Dale Redmond Sr.. The couple married and had two sons, Dale and Michael. They later divorced. Mrs. Grame married John Grame in Topeka and they had one son, Neil. Mr. Grame passed away in 1991. Mrs. Grame loved crafts, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, and her cat, Kittyboots. She especially enjoyed over four years with her friends at Sante Fe Apartments in Topeka.
Survivors include her sons; Dale A. Redmond Jr. (Gay) of Topeka, Michael G. Redmond (Catherine), Colorado Springs, and Neil F. Grame, Topeka. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 8, 2007 at Newcomer Family Funeral Home, 6th and Gage, Topeka, with burial to follow at Shawnee Center Cemetery, Wakarusa. The family will meet with friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, June 7, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Meals On Wheels, 1500 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, KS 66604.
