Godfrey L. "G.L." Bulger, 87, Topeka, formerly of Overland Park, passed away Monday, October 1, 2018 at a local hospital.
G.L. was born October 31, 1931 in Topeka, the son of Leo and Mary (Coash) Bulger. He graduated from Topeka High School.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 4 years during the Korean War.
He was employed by Southwestern Bell as an Administrative Manager of Marketing, retiring in 1983 after 32 years of service. He later worked in the Olathe True Value Hardware store for 14 years.
He was a member of Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene and the Civitan Club and a former member of the Olathe Lodge #19 A.F. & A.M.
G.L. married Jo Ann Myers on January 21, 1955 in Topeka. His wife of 63 years survives. Other survivors include daughter, Rene' Bulger and friend, Drew Meyers, Overland Park; son, Brent Bulger, Topeka; and sisters, Anita Minshew, Shawnee and Juanita Hallovant, Sugar Creek, MO. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow at the Mayetta Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 5, 2018 at the Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road.
