Gordon L. Lindeblad, 94, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013. He was born November 19, 1919, in Akron, Iowa, the son of Rev. Victor and Rose Lindeblad. He received a B.A. in Education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Gordon was employed by the Beechcraft Corporation as an Aircraft Inspector for 40 years. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, of Topeka, and American Legion Post 0341.
Gordon married Marion Bechtold on February 7, 2004. Survivors include his wife, Marion and her sons, Stanley Bechtold (Mary Ann) and their 2 children, and Alan and his 2 children; a brother, Rev. H.O. Lindeblad; daughters, Cindy Rooney (Kevin), Gretchen Samuelson (Dean); 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Ruth; son, Scott, and brother, Stan.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, December 30th at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 731 SW Buchanan, in Topeka. Private graveside services will be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church or the Topeka Rescue Mission, P.O.
