Grace E. Artzer

Grace E. Artzer, 83, Topeka, passed away December 16, 2010, at Midland Hospice. She was born in Denison, on October 15, 1927, to Isaiah and Maude (Oswald) Dick. She attended Topeka High School, and was later employed at the Shawnee County Sheriff's Department, where she retired in 1989. Grace married LeRoy Artzer at Harrisonville, Missouri. She was a member of Third Presbyterian Church. Grace was also a member of the Eagles Lodge, Topeka, where she served as a past president of the Women's Auxiliary. She had resided at Aldersgate Village - Lincoln Square for the past two years.

Grace is survived by her daughter Barbara Willard (Ron) of Topeka; grandchildren, Linda Gravenstein of Lawrence, and Dennis Willard of Topeka; five great-grandchildren; two great-great grandsons; a great-great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy on May 18, 2010. Grace was also preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and two sisters.

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 20, 2010, at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service. Grace will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Monday; family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Private interment will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery.
