Grace Dreier, 89, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2005 at Midland Hospice House after a short illness. Grace was born on February 6, 1916 in Stoutland, MO, the daughter of Clyde Crist and Margaret Becker Crist. She grew up on a farm in the Richland community and graduated from Berryton High School in 1934. She married Carl Dreier on March 12, 1936 in Meriden. He preceded her in death on March 18, 1997. Mrs. Dreier was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church, did volunteer work at Stormont-Vail hospital, Kansas Children's League, Red Cross and for "Caring Callers" at her church. Mrs. Dreier worked at Capitol Federal Savings for ten years and later part time at Palace Clothing Company and Berkson's Clothing Store. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl, a brother, Raymond Crist and a sister, Ida Margaret Huyett. Survivors include two sons, Ramon Dreier and Richard Dreier, both of Topeka, a sister, Dorothy Wilson of Kansas City, KS, three grandchildren, Linda Brown of Elkhorn, NE, Ryan Dreier of Ft. Worth, TX and Kristen Dreier of Louisville, KY, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Dreier was cremated. Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Private inurnment will take place in Topeka Cemetery.
